Bucks reporter: Portis is more likely to execute 13.4 million options this summer instead of testing the free market
According to Bucks reporter Jim Owczarski, Portis is more likely to execute player options this summer than to jump out of contract to test the free market.
Portis has one last season left in his contract with the Bucks, but next season is a $13.4 million player option, and he can jump out of the contract and enter the free market this summer.
Due to taking banned drugs, Portis was suspended for 25 games this season. He played 49 games in the regular season, averaging 25.3 minutes per game, scoring 13.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists, with shooting percentages of 46.6%, 36.5%, and 83.6% respectively in the three events.
In the playoffs, Portis played 5 games, averaging 14 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per 31.6 minutes per game, with shooting percentage and three-point shooting percentages of 44.1% and 35.7% respectively.
