talkSPORT: Bayern starts talking about Nkunku, transfer fees of less than £40 million may be able to reach a deal
British media talkSPORT reported that Bayern has negotiated with Chelsea.
Bayern asked about Nkunku in January, but Chelsea's £60 million asking price was considered too high. Bayern prefers trading with loan plus buyout options, but given that Chelsea's asking price for players has dropped, the possibility of a permanent transfer cannot be ruled out.
Bayern also tried to sign Walter Marde this month, but has not reached an agreement with Stuttgart on the transfer fee.
talkSPORT said Nkunku will be allowed to leave the team at a price well below £52 million, a figure that Chelsea paid when he signed him from Leipzig in the summer of 2023. Chelsea's asking price for Nkunku is slightly above £40m when the transfer window opens, but now a transfer fee below that number may allow Chelsea to approve the deal.
Currently, Germany Transport's valuation of Enkunku is 30 million pounds, which has dropped significantly compared to the valuation of Enkunku's 70 million pounds when he joined Stamford Bridge. Nkunku played 62 games for Chelsea and scored 18 goals, but he had limited starting opportunities.
Chelsea still hopes to sign Xavi Simmons from Leipzig, the deal will bring more restrictions on playing time to Nkunku, so leaving before the transfer window is considered a satisfactory choice for all parties.
Leipzig also discussed signing back to Nkunku, and the players are also open to returning to their old club.
