Sarri criticized Italy s youth training: the youth league is played in a bad stadium with only 150 spectators

In an exclusive interview, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri severely criticized the youth training system of Italian football, especially the U23 echelon in Serie C.

What do you think of the U23 echelon in Serie C?

I don’t like the solution of the B team (U23), which goes against the sense of glory of our local football. A player from Folia wants to play against Bari, not Atalanta U23. This is the end of Serie C football.

Do you think this is related to the national team's problems?

The national team has a long history of problems. My question is, what are we doing to develop young players? Our youth league was played in a terrible stadium with only 150 spectators. If one of these players has to play in front of 50,000 fans at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, it's clear they're not ready.
