Italian media: Sule is still waiting for Argentina’s call-up, and Italy currently has no plans to naturalize him
According to TUTTOJUVE reports, Sule is still loyal to Argentina, and Italy has no plans to naturalize him.
Sule's agent previously stated in an interview that if Argentina does not give Sule a chance, he may play for Italy.
Although he was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Sule's mother and maternal grandparents are Italian. According to relevant FIFA regulations, he can theoretically play for the Italian national team. In fact, when Sule was still playing for Frosinone, the then Italian coach Spalletti tried to recruit him, but he declined and chose to wait for Argentina's call.
Therefore, the possibility of Sule wearing an Italian jersey is still only theoretical. The Roma attacker continues to wait for the call of the Argentine national team and has not changed his original intention.
In contrast, other young players such as Tresoldi and Ahano are being actively pursued by the Italian Football Association, and naturalizing Sule is not a priority goal of the Italian Football Association.
