Kidd: Flagg is very calm and only cares about winning, not the number of shots and scoring

The Mavericks lost to the Wizards 107-117. After the game, Mavericks coach Kidd accepted an interview with the media.

Flagg was the best player on the court in high school and college. Kidd believes that the best player in the United States at Duke University will be able to calmly deal with setbacks in the NBA in the future.

"I think this stems from the environment in which Flagg grew up." Kidd said, "His parents did a very good job as coaches; Flagg himself also works very hard because he wants to win. I think his emotions will have ups and downs. He is only 18 years old. Sometimes he performs very well, and sometimes he performs very well. He will make mistakes from time to time. He will learn from wins and losses, and being in such an environment early in his career will only make him better in the future."

Flagg played the forward position at Duke, but the Mavericks made him the starting point guard in the first two games of this season. Adjusting to the difference between these two positions is extremely challenging on a mental level.

" Flagg is only 18 years old. He could have easily chosen to force the offense or increase the number of shots. But when you have the ball and need to lead your teammates to participate in the offense, you have an extra responsibility. I think he is very calm, which can be seen from his first day at the press conference. You You can feel the energy in him. He cares about winning, not scoring 20 points, or taking 20 shots. He cares about winning, and I think other teammates like to play with him as a coach or teammate.

In 35 minutes, Flagg made 6 of 14 shots, 2 of 5 three-pointers, and 4 of 4 free throws. He scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block, and had 5 turnovers.
