James: Cooper plays the right way in training I ve watched him play for several years

Today, the second season of Lakers forward James' podcast program "The Brain of the Field" was updated in the latest episode. James talked about many topics with the guest host Nash. The theme of this issue is the NBA draft and potential changes in NBA rules.

Nash: "He's going to fight for the championship right away. That's a very unique situation for the rookie. Did you play with Cooper last summer? Did you participate in those training?"

James said: "Yes, he's in the sparring team. He's doing a great job. I've been watching Cooper play in recent years, and my son Brownie plays AAU basketball at the Nike Youth Classic, so we'll play Peach in Georgia. Jam game, or compete in Kansas City, Dallas, Indianapolis, etc. Cooper is different from many kids, he plays for teams in his hometown of Maine. Many kids are recruited elsewhere, and Cooper has been playing with his twin brother and his buddies, I forgot his team’s name, but he and his brother make his team competitive, against those teams with luxurious rosters. I think that’s cool because I remember that was the same back then, and I represent Shooting in Northeast Ohio Stars are playing, and I play with my friends and I grow up, and we have to play against the best teams in the country. I think that's cool. But he's a talented player."

Nash: "What's your mindset like in training?"

James: "He's a winner, and it looks like he's been playing in the winning round. Even in his first season at Duke, he's playing in the winning round. And he's a freshman, and I remember he's also the ACC League Player of the Year this year, and I think he's playing in the right way. You're going to want players of his level to work hard every day and improve themselves. I think he's improving."
