Dunleavy talks about core aging: trying his best to win the championship Curry pursues his dreams Butler still has excellent level
Today Warriors GM Dunleavy accepted an interview with the media.
Reporter: All three of your core players are over 35 years old. What impact does this have on the type of players you pursue in the offseason and the team planning?
Mike Dunleavy: Good question. I think our top priority now is to win because of the age of these core players and their still excellent competitive level. We don't want to be too entangled with "must be greatly younger" or "not too old". The most important thing is to introduce talented and good players. I think we have done this at different age levels because our timeline is calculated year by year. We must try our best to win the championship this year, and the players we have introduced are also reflecting this idea.
Of course, we will always consider the future and will not overdraft. It is important that all actions must be logical.
Reporter: You mentioned the veteran just now. So how involved are they during the offseason lineup construction process?
Mike Dunleavy: I would say that their participation is about the same level as before. I like to communicate with them, listen to their opinions, and understand their ideas. But there is never a situation where "we must do this" or "never do that". This is how our interactions and conversations unfold.
No matter when you ask me this question, my answer will probably be the same.
