Was suspected of domestic violence! German media: Bayern fans held banners to protest Boateng’s internship with the team

German media sport1 reported that during Bayern's home game against Dortmund in the Bundesliga, a Bayern fan group held up a giant banner to strongly protest the club's possible plan to allow Boateng to return to the team for an internship.

The protest occurred at the beginning of the second half of the game. The banners displayed by the fans were extremely violent and directly expressed their angry stance. One of the banners read: "Those who provide space for perpetrators are also accomplices, Boateng, get out." Another banner read: "There is no place for people with bad moral character in our club - there is no place for Boateng anymore!"

The direct trigger of the fan protest was a judgment made by the Munich First District Court in July 2024, which found Boateng guilty of "deliberately causing ordinary personal injury to his ex-girlfriend." Although this verdict did not officially identify him as having a criminal record under German law, it obviously did not quell the anger of the fans.

According to previous reports, Boateng, who has just retired, hopes to start his coaching career and has requested an internship from Bayern, and team coach Kompany is open to this. However, the clear signals sent by the fans during the game undoubtedly put huge pressure on the club's senior management.
