Deschamps: The third is always better than the fourth, it s a holiday for us, but the players can t rest

After France defeated Germany 2-0 to win the third place in the European League, Deschamps accepted a post-match interview with France TF1.

He said: "I try to keep my head clear. We gave our opponents too much initiative and kept running on the court, but it didn't actually bring anything substantial."

"The team did a good job today because the game was not easy. If the result was not good, I had no excuses, although there were some tricky situations in it. We ended up third, better than fourth. We ended the season with a victory against Germany. It was a holiday for us, but the players couldn't rest. We still had two important World Cup qualifiers, with Ukraine and Iceland."
