Bergomi: I hope Juventus vs Inter Milan is a goal battle without tactics
Inter legendary captain Bergomi was a guest on the Italian Sky Sports program. He talked about Inter's prospects in the Champions League and the Italian national derby on the weekend.
"The first place in the group is not important now. What needs to be done is to start well. Inter Milan must maintain a good physical condition. Although skills and tactics are also important, Inter Milan is the latest team to start the new season. Inter Milan must play the first four games, because the opponents afterwards are really tough. But Inter Milan has experience and do well. Don't forget where they played last season. This time it is a new challenge and they must accept it."
When asked which Serie A team can go further in the Champions League, Bergomi replied: "There will always be a glass ceiling that you can see but you can never touch. What I can say is that Inter Milan has experience, Napoli has good offensive ability, and Juventus' lineup is strong. And Atlanta is an annoying and difficult team. If you have to say a foreign team, I would say Arsenal is strong and pay attention to Maresca's Chelsea. But I hope our (Italy) team goes further."
Regarding the weekend's Juventus-Inter national derby, Bergomi said: "Who is in better form? It's easy to say, it's Juventus, because they have 6 points now, and Inter lost Udinese. But the derby is always a derby. We need to see how the national players are in shape after they return, but it's always a engaging game. It's hard to predict, and I want to see a wonderful, tactical goal battle that will excite us."
